Anti-encroachment drive will begin in Shershah, Gulbai immediately. All truck, bus and rickshaw stands will also be removed. "The anti-encroachment action will be taken with the help of the DMC West promptly," DIG Traffic Police Javed Ali Mehar assured the industrial community, speaking at a meeting of SITE Association of Industry (SAI).

He also took serious notice of traffic jams highlighted by SAI president Saleem Parekh. DIGP agreed with the views and suggestions of SITE Association of Industry and instructed immediately for providing lifter at Afza Flyover from 4:30-8:00 p.m. for removal of illegally parked vehicles. He also directed relevant subordinates to ensure issuance of challans to wrong side violators and clearing all 10 traffic congestion points in SITE Area.

Mehar also agreed to take up the matter of widening of Orangi Nullah Bridge; placement of height barrier, studs at ICI Bridge to Jinnah Flyover; replacement of loose expansion joints at Lyari Express Way and allowing 6-wheeler to ply in SITE Area except from 5-8 p.m. SAI president Saleem Parekh emphasised the need for serious actions on top priority basis by police to save time and fuel being wasted due to traffic jam. He appreciated traffic police behaviour while dealing with people which he said has improved, immensely.
